The line segment AB is a chord of a circle centre (2,-1) where A and B are (3,7) and (-5,3) respectively. AC is a diameter of the circle. Find the area of ABC?

The basic way is to find 4% of £14,120 and then add the amount to £14,120. £14,120 x 4% = £564.80 Increase of £14,120 by 4% = £14,120 + £564.80 = £14,684.80

How do you work out what the equation of the parallel line to my=2x+3 and passes through (0,7) is?

Parallel lines have the same gradient so the coefficient of x must still be 2. We know one set of x and y values so we can substitute in to get 7=0*2+c and rearrange to get c=7 Thus the equation of the parallel line is y=2x+7. # Phillip Tate
