When you change the -x to x you have to change the sign. So the answer would be x < -4 or -4 > x

BBC bitesize usually separates what you need to know by keystage (look at key stage 3)
In terms of maths my class looked at fractions, decimals and percentages, area and circumference of circles, ratio and proportion, and basic algebra (simplifying expressions, solving with an unknown on one side, etc)

Any idea what i  could learn about in any subject just started home school I'm in year 8?

If you think about the equation for respiration (C6H12O6 +6 O2 = 6 H2O + 6 CO2) the gases involved are Oxygen and carbon dioxide. This means there will be a slight decrease in oxygen level and slight increase in carbon dioxide level, everything else will remain the same.

Both contain an equal number of nitrogen, around 80%

Both also contain oxygen, though inhaled has a bit more.
As well as carbon dioxide, exhaled contains 10 times the amount.

It can be useful to think of each letter as a different object.

Let's say X = bananas and y = apples

If we need to simplify 2x + 4y - 5x, we can't add the X and y values together because they are different things. If we have 2 apples, 4 bananas and -5 apples then we can't just add it all up, we have to count each object separately. So the answer would be 4y - 3x

Separate this up and collect the like terms 
So 
X terms : 3x
D terms : -9d.      +5d
C terms : 7c

Then simplify these (take note that negative values are taken into consideration)
So we have 
3x 
-9d+5d= -4d
7c


Then add these back together to get 3x-4d+7c
