These are notes about Henry VIII’s policies including his foreign and domestic policies and royal authority, This is useful for those studying Tudors at either GCSE or A level. Please note that these are condensed notes that can be used for revision purposes.

Henry VIII: Policies and Royal Authority- GCSE AND A LEVEL

Evaluation is where you come up with a conclusion looking at the positives and negatives of a study or topic. This can come down to validity, reliability and more!

What is Evaluation

Advantages :
- it would be considered ‘entrenched’, meaning that that it would be more difficult to change, which is a plus in some situations. 
- it is authoritative, meaning that parliamentary sovereignty would be high, which is what UK parliament particularly want to achieve 
- limited government
- protection of rights 
- clear rules for political procedure 

Disadvantages : 
- British constitution has more flexibility 
- difficulty to transfer into a written form 
- would bring unelected judiciary into areas 
- difficult to change can be bad in some cases 

What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a UK codified constitution?

The rise of the Nazis was greatly produced by much of Hitler’s power to manipulate the population in order to excel and gain the position of Chancellor of Germany. Throughout events such as the Munich Beerhall Putsch, Hitler was able to spread across the apprised Nazi ideology which started off the thoughts of people in early stages. Events such as the Reichstag Fire being blamed upon Communists within Germany, this further manipulated people into voting for the Nazi Party. After the great depression caused by the failure of the economy and recession due to inflation after the First World War, Hitler made the public believe that he had ways in which he could solve this, with war guilt taking strong tolls on the life of the German people by itself. What were the reasons for the rise of the Nazis? From 1929 - 1932

A lot of this has to do with the idea of eye-witness testimony. Within psychology, much research has been done within crime scenes and how well witnesses recall situations. A study looked upon by researchers Yuille and Cutshall in the 1900s interviewed a number of witnesses to a real life shooting, showing that those who had more expression of anxiety, the better their testimony was. There has been a number of studies to suggest that their are such aspects like memory contamination due to post-event discussion which can change the way in which events are recalled. There is much more too these theories within my A level Psychology course - hope this helped! 

Religious Studies

Explain why two people who experienced the same event may recall the event differently.

ADVANTAGES: 
- help you understand exam-style questions
- get you used to what your final exam will actually be like
- pick out your strong and weak points and make sure you are revising affectively regarding the results of your exam
- help your teachers to give support depending on what stage they believe you’re at
- setting yourself realistic predicted grades for your final exams based on the ones you have taken and how well you have coped and performed. 

DISADVANTAGES:
- not always an accurate reflection as it may be marked subjectively or it may have been a bad day
- if you get a bad score it may knock your confidence down (which it shouldn’t! everyone has a bad day sometimes and support is there- don’t worry!)
- you may compare yourself to the rest of your classmates 

Honestly, there aren’t many disadvantages other than having to revise all the time and they are very time consuming when you could be learning content, but they’re so useful when preparing you for your exams so give them your best shot, no matter how big or small they are!

What are the advantages and disadvantages of assessment in schools

The best way to structure and write the unseen poetry section in AQA for the best marks is to first think about the basics- language, form and structure. This will then set the basis for your ideas and get your mind set in the exam about what to add on. 
First of all, write down how many stanzas are in the poem, how many lines there are, what type of structure it has to relate to the poem. For example, if the poem is a dramatic monologue of a woman having a conversation with her friends about something that’s gone wrong in her household and is structured quite messily, you can link this to her chaotic thoughts and her stress- how easy! 
The language used is such a good way to get marks from a poem you’ve never seen before. You can guess the year about the poem was made based on how modern the language used is, and the type of words used give off so many marks. Look for the different emotions within the text, look for metaphors and similes and how this may link to the title and any other kind of ideas you’ve studied for the poems you have learnt in your anthology to get your ideas flowing. 
Other things such as picking out meanings from the title and seeing if you recognise the poet from another poem they’ve written can also give you extra marks.
The main thing is- practice makes perfect and try doing lots of exam-type questions on the subject, read a lot of mark schemes and examiner comments to see what the examiner wants!
