Hiya, The fast growth of bacterial cells is more about spreading quickly and thriving in harsh conditions as quickly as possible. This fast growth rate uses the resources available to cells as quickly as possible, thereby preventing the growth of other cells which take longer to use the nutrients in the surrounding environment. How does a spermatid differ from a spermatozoa?

A spermatid is that a haploid cell (contains half the genetic information). This is produced though meiosis of a spermatocyte. Spermatozoa are what you picture to be a sperm - it has a tail to move and merges with the egg. Spermatid develop to become Spermatozoa, which are fully developed sperm.
