The velocity of a car increases from 8 m/s to 28 m/s in 10 seconds without changing direction calculate its acceleration?

acceleration can be calculated using SUVAT S- displacment U- initial velocity V- final velocity A- aceleration T- time For this one we should use v = u + at rearrange to make a the subject: a = (V-U)/t Solve: a = (28-8)/10 a = 20/10 a = 2 ms-2 Any more questions? Let me know :)

How do physics and technology are connected with each other?

Physics has vast applications and one of them is in the field of technology. An example would be the technologies such as nuclear reactors which can be utilised to generate huge amounts of energy are based on the principles of nuclear physics. An electric motor uses 50j of electrical energy and does 40j of work?

Motors tend to not be 100% efficient so in this case, the 10j of energy could have been dissipated as heat energy. Check out energy Sankey diagrams and have a read through: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/guides/zgvc6fr/revision/3 Let me know if you have any more questions :)

2x+6=7x-14?

2x + 6 = 7x - 14 rearrange (get all X's to one side) 7x - 2x = 6 + 14 5x = 20 x = 20/5 x = 4 Let me know if you have any more questions! :)

A crane has a cable with a breaking strain of 6400 kg measured to 2 significant figures. It is used to lift crates which weigh 90 kg measured to the nearest 10 kg. What is the greatest number of crates that can safely be lifted at one time without br?

number of crates that can be lifted = weight of crane/ weight of each crate so, n = 6400/90 n = 71.11... so the greatest it can lift must be 71 as you cannot lift 0.11... of a crane and if you lift 72 the crane would break. Any more questions? Let me know :)

Describe a test for ammonium sulfate?

Ammonium sulphate (NH₄)₂SO₄ has two ions which need to be tested. NH₄⁺ Test: - Add warm NaOH to a test tube with the solution that is being investigated ((NH₄)₂SO₄) - Above the test tube hold a damp red litmus paper, if the litmus paper turns blue then NH₄⁺ ion is present the litmus paper turns blue as NH3 (alkaline) is produced when ammonium ion reacts with sodium hydroxide. (NH4)2SO4(aq) +2N... more

Different between potential difference and current?

Current: The rate of flow of charges Potential difference: Work done to move a unit charge between two points in an electrical circuit. in very very very simple terms: Current: how quickly the charges (electrons) are moving in a circuit Potential difference: how much energy is needed to move these charges between 2 points in a circuit. A bunch of seeds was put in a large underground hole. After a sometime, only the seeds on the outside germinated while the seeds at the centre of the hole did not terminate. Why is that so?

The germination of seeds requires optimum temperature, oxygen and water availability. It is likely that when seeds are put in a large underground there is low oxygen availability for the seeds at the centre of the hole compared to those seeds that are on outside. As a result due to the lack of ideal conditions the seeds at the centre remain dormant and are hence unable to germinate. # Soumya Sri Pichuka
