They don’t care about grades to be honest. Drama school looks for what you have done outside of school or college. In an interview with RADA, for example, they will ask what plays you have read and who’s work/method you’re interested in and why. Therefore, grades and taking part in drama club is one thing, but attending workshops, the theatre, and related work experience will really catch their eye. Talk about your passion and make sure you have performed and studied loads of plays. Furthermore, include other talents that you take part in, like music and dance, which is also key.

There are millions of different jobs that music can take you to, you don’t need to specifically do mainstream jobs. For example, you could be an artist marketer, or a (music) event manager. There’s many short courses in sound engineering and even music therapy. There are a wide range of jobs in music you haven’t even heard of that you find by networking and searching for apprenticeships or internships at music labels or organizations. So try do some research!

Make research posters on all main practitioners. Have a look at Stanislavsky, Chekhov, Brecht, Berkoff and Grotowski. Read books on theatre too; expanding your research and not just the syllabus will help you answer the questions better. Look at the history of theatre too as in looking into the style of acting and the mise en scene influenced by Greek or Shakespeare and so on. Practice questions more instead of revising too. Helps you prepare. Make revision cards of all the key techniques to memorise the key words that the criteria requires to see in the answers, as they usually skip your paragraphs. 

How do you get the best grade possible in gsce drama?

This might sound crazy… I really struggled with collecting information, however sticking colourful post it notes with the key information, stats or words on your bedroom walls could help. Furthermore, have you tried saying it out loud as you re-read the information or associating it with an image so that you could picture the numbers with the image in your mind?
