Hi, I'm Xenia

I have been a STEM tutor throughout my studies in London over the past seven years, and have taught Maths, Biology, and Chemistry at KS3 through to A-level. I have also run lab-based activities and science practicals for groups of school students, and mentored a number of undergraduate and postgraduate students during my lab research experience. I have always tried to make science as fun as possible and to give students the confidence to reach their full potential. I studied Biology at Imperial College, and later worked on an extremely exciting new tool in Biology called gene drive that may eventually be used to prevent many diseases such as malaria, Dengue, and Zika. I am now pursuing a PhD at the University of Oxford, where I will be working on a similar project to genetically engineer the mosquito that carries Dengue.
